Canada is the second largest country in the world, the country streches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and its capital in Ottawa. Politically Canada is a federal costitutional monarchy.
TORONTO: is the largest city in Canada. It has a cosmopolitan population and the most popular attraction are harbour front, the tower that is the world’s tallest building, and the Sky Dame, that is a stadium.
MONTREAL: there are many skyscrapers Old Montreal contains many historic building and two famous churches, the Basilique Notre Dame and the Chapelle Notre Dame de Bom Secors. In Montreal Biondome we can find the tropical forests such as, the Lawrenlian forest. The underground city has carridors and shops.
VANCOUVER: is surrounded by spectacular natural beauty. Near the centre there is Stanle Park, an urban forest. Gastown is the area where Vancouver was founded.
OTTAWA: was chosen as Canada’s capital bys Queen Victoria. It’s situated between Toronto and Montreal. In the Parliament hill we can find the Parliament Building, and near there is the Library of Parliament. Every summer at 1000 a.m. there is the Changing of the Evards.
The great lakes
They are a group of 5 lakes around the Canada-United States borders. Lakes freeze over in winter. The lakes can have an effect on weather, the moisture produces very heavy smawfall. The lake effect can also moderates the temperature.
The canadian rockies
They are a vast mountainous region in Western Canada. The highest peak is Mount Robson called “The Emperor”. In Banff National Park you can see Peyto Lake whose shape looks like the head of a wolf. The best-known waterfall is Takakkomi Falls. While on the border between Canada and USA are Niagara Falls.
A multicultural nation
Canada was a British and French colony. Canada was discovered by The Vikings, but it was a French explorer. Canada became a French province in 1663 but it was from Britain in 1867. Canada is today a federal costitutional monarchy with a parliamentary monarchy which has 10 provinces and 3 territories.
The canadian flag
It was chosen by Candian Parliament and proclaimed by Elizabeth II in 1965. The flag is costituited to three bends two red and on the widdle there’s a red leaf on white back.
Bilinevalism in Canada
Canada has two official languages: English and French. The main French-speaking reglon in Quebec.
The government
The Federal Parliament is composed by the Queen and two houses. The houses of Commons and Senate.
